Next of Kin Memorial Ave Walking Tour – October 17th, 2021

The Saskatoon Heritage Society is delighted to present a Walking Tour of Next of Kin Memorial Avenue, Woodlawn Cemetery on Sunday, October 17, at 2pm led by Peggy Sarjeant. This "road of remembrance" is a National Historic Site, dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives during the First World War. This walking tour is limited to 20 participants and pre-registration is required. To pre-register, please send us a private Facebook message (facebook.com/yxeheritage/) with your name, phone number, and the number of people in your party. The tour group will assemble at the second set of gates, and parking is available, either adjacent to the small building on the west side of Memorial Avenue or on 2nd Avenue, north of 33rd Street. Saskatoon in Microcosm: a Walking Tour – September 12th, 2021

The Saskatoon Heritage Society is delighted to present: Saskatoon in Microcosm - a Walking Tour on Sunday, September 12th, 2021 at 2 pm.   This in-person walking tour will be led by Local Historian Dianne Wilson and will depart from the corner of Eastlake Avenue and 11th Street East.   The tour will explore the 500-block of 11th Street East in Nutana, which showcases residential buildings characteristic to almost every major building period in Saskatoon’s history. This collection of homes, built by businessmen, farmers, contractors can be said to present the history of middle-class architecture from 1903-04 to 1949. Builders, owners, occupants include names familiar in Saskatoon’s written history.   This walking tour is limited to 20 participants and pre-registration is required.
