Come out on Sunday, June 23rd, from 1:30-3:30pm for the Forestry Farm Superintendent's Residence Open House at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo. The Superintendent's Residence is a National Historic Site and was the focal point of the Sutherland Forest Nursery Station which, from 1913 to 1965, occupied the site of the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo. Founded by the federal Forestry Branch in 1913, the Sutherland Forestry Nursery Station was created to promote shelter belts and European ideals of farm beautification on the prairies The walking tour will begin at 2pm.
